2013 Hurdles of High School

The Hurdles of High School Event was a program designed to educate the parents of eighth and ninth graders about the hurdles faced by freshmen when they get to high school.

In October 2013, the Coalition worked with the Woodcliff Lake Police Department, Montvale Police Department and Bergen County Police Department's Canine Unit to provide a demonstration of driving under the influence to students at Pascack Hills high School.

Janice Georgallas is the founder of the Hills Valley Coalition. Janice has served as a volunteer to the HVC and thePascack Valley Regional High School District for about 18 years. She received the State Governor's Council on Drug and Alcohol Abuse Community Service Award in September 2012 for her outstanding service to our organization and to Bergen County.

To kick off the Stigma-Free Campaign the schools were involved with various activities. Susan Loeb's WCL Middle School kids created a Stigma-Free mosaic for Respect Week.
