What is S.A.F.E. Homes ?            

S.A.F.E. Homes (Support Alcohol Free Environment) - Is a program that raises awareness about underage drinking and illegal drug use in our community.

S.A.F.E. Homes families sign a pledge committing their homes to be alcohol free to minors.

Why Do We Need a.S.A.F.E. Homes Program?

◊ Young people are constantly faced with pressures to use alcohol and other drugs.

◊ Alcohol is advertised and glamorized in the media and there are many social messages directed to youth encouraging the use of all kinds of substances.

◊ By refusing to take a stand, adults condone behavior that is unhealthy for children.

 

We need to show that we care enough to stand together!

What Is The Pledge?

First, It is Important to note, the "pledge" is a good faith promise, not a legal contract. By signing this pledge, you promise to:

◊ Provide adult supervision for large gatherings and/or parties in your home.

◊ Not serve alcohol to any guest under the age of 21 or permit underage drinking or illegal drug use in your homes.

◊ Acknowledge that It is a criminal offense in New Jersey to serve alcohol to anyone who is under the legal age of 21.

◊ Have your names published in a directory. The directory indicates that you have:

(1) Signed the pledge and,

(2) Agreed to be contacted by other parents.
