The
Hills/Valley Coalition for Resilient Youth
was formed 10 years ago, as an
organization comprised of parents, health care providers, law
enforcement, community leaders, school officials, government leaders
and local teens. Our mission is to educate, inform and promote the
benefits of living a substance-free lifestyle. We seek to unify and
promote community efforts to create and maintain a safe and
substance-free environment that enhances the positive development of
our community’s youth and well-being of families.
Our non-profit
organization, staffed mainly by volunteers, is seeking
community and corporate based donations to help us raise $20,000.
These funds are needed to implement our 2009-20012 community service
programs that include:
·
Informative quarterly newsletters
·
Prevention literature distributed to high school students and their
families
·
Special live events with Nationally Recognized Speakers on topics
such as:
Ø
Drugs and Alcohol Abuse
Ø
Host
Liability Laws
Ø
Internet Safety
Ø
Dangers of Drinking and Driving
·
Local access television programs
·
On-line media programs
·
Safe Homes Initiative
· Maintaining
the Hills/Valley Coalition Website
(www.hillsvalleycoalition.org)
As you probably know, State funding has been cut back
severely for this and similar programs, and may dry up completely in
the near future.
We need your financial support to continue our mission
of providing prevention education for our youth and families.
